Dunstable Hunters Pickleball Club
This is more of a passion project, my father and his wife came to me talking about how they got into this new (to the UK) sport called Pickleball. They were a member of a local club however wanted to create their own in Dunstable. After discussing goals and having already decided on a club name 'Dunstable Hunters' I was set the task of coming up with a brand, encapsulating a community's identity into this club that the members to be could stand behind, connect with and grow together. A requirement of the brief was to leverage the heritage of Dunstable – on my moodboard you can see stand out elements were the town crest, the colour black and blue, and the shell. Since this is a new sport in the UK, awareness and marketing the club would be a big challenge so I wanted the visual identity to be very clean and clear graphical compositions using the court, paddle and ball.
The club is now a year old and thriving with around 150 members, they have two locations, attend multiple sports venues, UK leagues and are promoting themselves on BBC radio. This year Dunstable Hunters has paired up with Pickleball England – who are aspiring to be the a national governing body) to run a three counties pickleball doubles league. To make this fun and engaging my inspiration was jousting tournaments and medieval England, the tournament dubbed Three Counties One Crown. is the fight to be King of the Hill.
